Michael Boardman is a Senior Consultant based in Newport, Rhode Island where he oversees the group’s branding, marketing, and software products. In his role, Mike helps clients enter the bespoke, made-to-order product market by helping them navigate the front-end visual product configurator development process, by advising them on marketing strategy and tactics for customer activation, and by guiding them onto JTB’s proprietary software system, Silhouette™. Mike is also responsible for managing JTB’s marketing and creative practices including strategy, social, analytics, and user experience. Having run small creative agency and marketing teams, Mike is uniquely equipped to help clients achieve success through small-batch manufacturing.
Immediately before joining JTB, Mike played an instrumental role in reviving Wild Things, a 30-year old technical outerwear brand, tooling it for sale in 2016. As Director of Brand and eCommerce, Mike executed a comprehensive brand strategy that included a new visual identity system, brand story, D2C eCommerce site, and marketing plan. While at Wild Things, Mike oversaw the launch of a bespoke, made-to-order mass-customization program and product line that quickly became 25% of eCommerce revenue.
Prior to Wild Things, Mike filled senior level creative positions at several, Boston area, boutique brand agencies, serving a broad spectrum of industries whose combined client list included the Boston Stock Exchange, Sun Microsystems, Perkin Elmer, Textron, MobileQ, Northeastern University, New Balance, and Ocean Spray Cranberries. Mike is owner of Michael Boardman Design, a brand and marketing consultancy located in Newport, Rhode Island.
